Newmark Retail announces a new long-term 6,544 square-foot lease for Argentinian bistro Novecento at Mary Brickell Village on 901 S Miami Ave. The popular eatery will relocate from its 1414 Brickell Avenue location to a prominent second-level space at the urban, open-air dining and shopping destination. Newmark’s Managing Director John Ellis was the sole broker on the transaction.
“We are very excited to be relocating our Flagship restaurant to the vibrant Mary Brickell Village,” said Aliosha Stern, CEO of Suviche Hospitality Group. “We have some special design elements and new experiences that will be unique to this location. We can’t wait to showcase these to the Brickell and Miami community.”
Novecento first opened its doors in 1991 in New York’s SoHo neighborhood, where it quickly became a local hotspot. Following that success, the concept went international with outposts across South America. Novecento came to Miami in 2002 and established its brand in the burgeoning Miami Beach neighborhood, then moved to Brickell and expanded to Key Biscayne, Doral and Aventura. The restaurant is known for its famous dish, the Novecento Salad. It is also a famous destination for tennis stars, frequented by the likes of Rafa Nadal, Juan Martin Del Potro, Novak Djokovic, and Marin Cilic. The restaurant will now be relocating from its Brickell Avenue location to the heart of the neighborhood in Mary Brickell Village. Novecento is projected to be open by Q3 of 2022.
“Miami has never been more popular as several new food and beverage purveyors are using this opportunity to secure great space as we shift back to reopening,” said Ellis. “Florida was one of the few states to see a dramatic influx of visitors and new residents, and the demand for innovative concepts has never been higher.”
